Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help individuals access a heightened state of awareness, often referred to as a trance state. In this state, the mind is more open to exploring thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may sit outside of conscious awareness. Hypnotherapy is used to support positive behavioural change, reduce distressing symptoms, and address underlying beliefs or experiences that may be contributing to current difficulties—all within a safe, collaborative, and client-centred framework.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy works by guiding you into a deeply relaxed yet focused state of awareness. In this state, your mind becomes more receptive to exploring underlying patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that may be contributing to current challenges. Rather than losing control, you remain aware and engaged throughout the process. Together, you and your therapist work collaboratively to gently shift unhelpful patterns and reinforce more adaptive, supportive ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving
What Makes Hypnotherapy Unique?
Much of our behaviour is influenced by subconscious processes — including habits, core beliefs, emotional reactions, and automatic thought patterns. This can make change feel difficult when relying on logic or willpower alone. Hypnotherapy offers a structured and evidence-informed way to access these deeper processes in a safe and supportive environment. By working at this level, clients are often able to experience meaningful and lasting change, integrating new perspectives, behaviours, and goals with greater ease and alignment.
