Naturopathy emphasises holistic disease prevention through natural, therapeutic methods and is based on the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Its strength lies in supporting the body, mind and emotions during the healing process. Individualized treatments focus on the cause of health issues, not just the symptoms.
An initial naturopathic consult consists of a 90-minute session where we have an in-depth discussion and I take a detailed case analysis. Your health history, family history and current symptoms will all be reviewed. Some physical examinations will also be performed that are related to your case. Any medications and supplements that you are taking, any imaging, blood tests or other medical investigation results that you have should be brought to the consultation to allow for detailed analysis. At the end of the consult, we collaborate and set some health goals. Your prescription will usually consist of some diet and lifestyle changes and maybe one or two herbs, supplements, or homeopathic remedies. Conditions treated include:
- Allergies and sensitivities
- Anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD and mental health conditions
- Behavioural problems
- Cardiovascular (heart and blood vessel) problems
- Digestive complaints
- Endocrine disturbance
- Fatigue and Chronic fatigue syndrome
- Fertility problems
- High blood pressure
- Hormonal imbalances, such as premenstrual tension and menopause
- Mood disorders and depression
- Musculoskeletal complaints
- Remedial Massage
Children can benefit from seeing a Naturopath because they can help with:
- Focus
- Mood stability
- Immune balance
- Respiratory illness
- Digestive issues
- Weight
- Anxiety
- Eczema
- Acne
Naturopaths can work with your GP, psychologist, or other health professional to ensure a holistic approach to your health.
